My holiday is over. You can stop asking me already.

My holiday did not go as well as i planned, but I guess its too late to moan over it. I spent most of my time shopping, hanging out with some people I've not seen in ages, bumming around, watched most of the latest LOST & OTH episodes, learnt a bit of cooking ..

For the past few weeks, my aunts, cousins and i have spent a great deal of time
planning, preparing invitations, shopping for outfits, brainstorming, looking for pictures from their old days, deciding the evening's theme of my grandparent's Golden Anniversary.Honestly, I wasnt entirely excited until yesterday.

When i got back from college, I found some of my cousins at my place. It wasn't an odd sight, until later in the evening when we were having dinner. My grandpa played his karaoke set to some of their favourite chinese songs..'Yue liang dai biao wo ti sin' Interestingly, most of us could sing/humm along to it. It was kinda funny to hear ourselves sing a chinese song (that was a first)..nonetheless, my grandparents must have been extra proud of us, illiterate grandchildren, singing along to some oldschool tune.

My aunt thought it'd be sweet if we(the grandchildren) did a number for them during their Golden Anniversary dinner. So while Hann and I were figuring out the chords for Yue liang in the living room, we could hear gramps singing to their karaoke back in the dining hall. I hardly ever appreciated it cos either I didnt
understand a word they were singing about, or they'd be sharing this pastime in church together with their friends. Its amazing to see this yesterday perhaps because i took the time to actually listen to them both singing together. Usually, they'd be sneering or making cynical remarks at one another (incredibly childish most of the time) all day. But there is something awesomely sweet about them, despite the constant arguements and silliness, they are a lovely couple. Seeing them sitting together deciding on which song to sing next last night was so darn cute. When they are not arguing, they'd sit side-by-side watching tv, commenting and discussing parts they didnt understand. Sometimes I catch either one of them smiling while watching the other sleep.

My grandpa never bought my grandma flowers beautifully wrapped by florists, never gave her pretty things for her birthday,..But every month, he buys her flowers(in a pot) to put in her little garden, on her birthdays he places his card on her pillow.
I think they're the sweetest thing.
Ilovethem.
